From emerging reports, rivalry at the Merseyside has got intense as it has moved from inside the pitch to outfit with Liverpool and Everton battling for the signature of Sporting Lisbon captain Bruno Fernandes.
The two Merseyside clubs are therefore seeking to land Bruno Fernandez in the coming summer window with his Portuguese side agreeing to part ways with him so as to cash in, according to Portuguese daily Correio de Manha.
The 24-year-old has been interesting so far this season which is the reason why the Portuguese outfit have placed a high asking price on him knowing that Bruno Fernandez will not lack suitors as soon as the summer window is opened.
It is claimed that both the Reds and the Blues were keen on the signature of Bruno Fernandez in the last January winter transfer window but they were discouraged by the fact that Sporting Lisbon were not ready to sell.
With claims that Sporting Lisbon are highly indebted, they have got reasons to part ways with some of their quality players so as to be able to raise some funds and meet with some financial demands.
However, Everton have been tipped to win the race for the star player because of his chances of seeing regular playing time with them.
