Three-time European champions Manchester United are reportedly plotting a major raid on one of their rivals in the Premier League.
According to the publication from popular English media outlet Daily Express, the Red Devils could raid North London giants Tottenham Hotspur in a bid to address the problematic right-back position in the team.
Tottenham Hotspur right-back Kieran Trippier could be the answer to the aforementioned problem in the Manchester United team.
Trippier, 28, was part of the Three Lions of England team that surprised many football stakeholders by producing their best World Cup finish in 28 years last summer.
England reached the semifinal of a FIFA World Cup tournament for the first time since the 1990 edition before they were beaten by Croatia on penalties with Trippier scoring a magnificent freekick.
The one-time world champions settled for the fourth spot via a 2-0 loss to Belgium in the 3rd/4th place playoff.
Kieran Trippier is the undisputed first choice at Premier League title chasers Tottenham Hotspur and he would be a fantastic addition to the Manchester United squad lacking a quality right-back.
Ashley Young is the regular right-back at Manchester United but the former Watford and Aston Villa player has seen better days, while Young Portuguese fullback is deemed too inexperienced for the position on a consistent basis.
