English Premier League outfit Liverpool are reported to be desperate to secure the signature of Ajax star defender Matthijs de Ligt in the coming summer transfer window.

The Reds have been affected by the lack of defenders this season as a result of the injuries they suffered and that almost cost them their top spot in the Premier League table.

Since the injury of Joe Gomez, there has not been trust anymore for the Red Defence despite having Dejan Lovren and Joel Matip as a cover for him.

The best of Liverpool’s defence has been seen with Joe Gomez and Virgil Van Dijk and it is now being missed which is the reason why the club are seeking a new addition with Matthijs de Ligt.

The £65 million-rated player is tipped to form a great partnership with Virgil Van Dijk in the defence owing to his impressive performance this season which has shown the prospect of a world class player.

Matthijs de Ligt is only 19 but he has been impressive in at both the national side and the country. A glimpse of his partnership with Virgil Van Dijk has been seen at the national side as they both played together for the Holland national team.
