Why Barcelona Didn’t Sign Aaron Ramsey Revealed
Spanish La Liga champions Barcelona were one of the clubs interested in a move for Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey but the five-time European champions decided against stepping up their interest in the player with a firm bid.
Aaron Ramsey went on to sign for Juventus who announced his transfer on Monday.
The 28-year-old has signed a free transfer contract worth £400,000 per week over the next four years.
Aaron Ramsey will join Juventus in the summer upon the expiration of his contract with the Gunners.
He has just six months left on his Arsenal contract with senior club officials reluctant to offer him a new deal and that played a big part in his move to Italian champions Juventus.
Spanish media outlet Mundo Deportivo talked about how Barcelona decided against a move for the Welsh international star.
It was revealed that Barcelona were convinced about not making a bid to sign Aaron Ramsey due to the midfield options at their disposal.
Barcelona recently bolstered their midfield options with the transfer of Ajax Amsterdam midfielder Frenkie De Jong who will join the Spaniards in the summer.
The Catalan giants are also in the running to sign Paris Saint Germain (PSG) midfielder Adrien Rabiot on a free transfer.
