How Man Utd Missed Out On Bundesliga Star Revealed
RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano could have been lining up in the colours of Manchester United if things had gone according to plans.
The young French centre back came close to joining the Red Devils in 2015 before the move fell through.
His agent has talked extensively about the failed move to Manchester United.
Thierry Martinez spoke about his client in a chat with media outlet So Foot as he said that Manchester United were solely responsible for the failed transfer.
According to him, the Red Devils failed to honour their promises to the player.
He revealed that the promise of a flat was reduced to him staying with a host family in addition to just six return trips for his family.
The player’s agent further said that the Manchester United conditions were not good for a young player moving to a new country and that was the main reason why the transfer was called off as he wanted emotional stability for the young French centre back.
Upamecano, 20, is back on the radar of many European clubs following his impressive outings for German Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig this season.
His form has propelled RB Leipzig to the top four places on the German Bundesliga table.
