Manchester United will have to fight off the interest of North London giants Arsenal in their quest to sign one of the most exciting players on the European continent.
Arsenal are the latest club to be mentioned as suitors for highly rated Ajax Amsterdam defender Matthijs De Ligt.
Manchester United had previously been linked with the young Dutch international centre back alongside other European heavyweights like Spanish La Liga club Barcelona, Italian Serie A giants Juventus and French Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint Germain (PSG).
Premier League clubs like Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea have also been touted as a possible transfer destination for the aforementioned De Ligt.
The interest of Arsenal in the 19-year-old was confirmed by the Daily Mirror who revealed that Premier League clubs have their doubts over a move for Matthijs De Ligt due to the fact that they have to deal with his agent Mino Raiola.
The Super Agent has a reputation for being difficult during negotiations and Premier League clubs want to steer clear of him.
Matthijs De Ligt has grown to become one of the most sought-after players in Europe as a result of his performances for both club (Ajax Amsterdam) and country (Netherlands) in the last one year.
