Manchester United defender Ashley Young has signed a new contract at the club to secure his future at Old Trafford despite the intense transfer rumours linking him with a move away from the Red Devils.
The 33-year-old was touted as a possible transfer for Italian Serie A giants Inter Milan but he has decided to stay at Manchester United.
His one-year contract extension was announced by Manchester United earlier on Monday.
The former Watford player has extended his Manchester United contract until the end of next season.
His previous contract had six months left on it after Manchester United activated the additional year clause in his contract in March 2018.
Ashley Young joined Manchester United from English Championship club Aston Villa in the summer of 2011 and he has scored 17 goals in 228 appearances for the three-time European champions since then.
The England international star has scored once in 25 appearances for Manchester United this season.
Ashley Young has seen his role change during his time at Old Trafford having started as a winger.
The experienced player has successfully transformed from a winger to a fullback.
He’s the third Manchester United player to sign a new contract at Old Trafford after Anthony Martial and Phil Jones.
