Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic could have been turning out in the colours of North London giants Arsenal but the Italians were able to fend off the strong bid for the winger to join them during the recently concluded winter transfer window.
The Gunners wanted to sign the Croatian World Cup star on loan for the rest of the season with the option to buy him outrightly at the end of the loan spell but Inter Milan wanted a permanent transfer.
According to Football Transfer Tavern, that could be that as far as an Arsenal move for Ivan Perisic is concerned with the Gunners now targeting a move for in-form Genk attacker Leandro Trossard.
The 24-year-old has been in superb form for Genk this season after netting 17 goals for the Belgian champions in all competitions.
His form has attracted the interest of the Gunners to his quality and he’s certainly a better option than Ivan Perisic age-wise with the Croatian international star entering the twilight of his career at the age of 30 though it must be pointed out that the Inter Milan winger has more experience.
Arsenal manager Unai Emery wants to strengthen his attacking options with a winger in the summer.
