Phil Jones: Ex-PL Midfielder Predicts Two Man Utd Exits After New Contract
Former Premier League midfielder Matt Holland has revealed that two Manchester United players will leave the club following the news that defender Phil Jones has committed his long-term future to the club.
The ex-Charlton Athletic and Ipswich Town star talked about Manchester United, Phil Jones and transfers while he was doing his punditry work on popular English radio TalkSport.
According to him, the new contract extension given to Phil Jones means that the likes of Marcos Rojo and Matteo Darmian will leave the club in the summer.
Both Rojo and Darmian have seen little action since interim Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was given the job in December.
Unlike the aforementioned Manchester United players, the long-term future of Phil Jones is not in doubt after the England international centre back signed a new contract that will take him to the end of the 2022/23 season last week.
He celebrated the new contract by helping Manchester United keep a clean sheet in their latest Premier League game, a 3-0 win over struggling side Fulham.
French World Cup winner Paul Pogba was the star of the show as he bagged a brace to lead Manchester United to a top-four place for the first time since August.
