Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira has revealed how he turned down a move to Brazilian Serie A club Santos before the end of the winter transfer window.
The Belgian-born Brazilian player talked about the reason behind the failed Santos transfer in a chat with Esporte Interativo as monitored by the Daily Star.
Andreas Pereira was linked with several clubs last month but he eventually stayed at Manchester United at the end of the January transfer window.
London clubs Arsenal and West Ham United were touted as a possible transfer destination for him as well as the aforementioned Santos.
The 23-year-old revealed that he spoke to Santos president about a move but it was not possible as he wanted a more established career in Europe.
Andreas Pereira further said that Santos would be a dream transfer for him later in his football career.
Italian club Fiorentina were also keen on the midfielder with reports claiming that Manchester United and to use him to smoothen relations between the two clubs as they plot a move for highly rated defender Nikola Milenkovic.
Fiorentina defender Milenkovic has been heavily linked with a move to the Theatre of Dreams with the Red Devils determined to bolster their defence with a new centre back.
