Three Manchester United players have been offered new deals at the club in an attempt to secure their futures at Old Trafford.
According to the Daily Telegraph, Juan Manuel Mata, Ander Herrera and Ashley Young have all been offered new contracts to ward off transfer rumours linking them with other clubs.
Mata, 30, has been linked with some of the biggest clubs on the European continent with his current deal set to expire at the end of this season.
The Spaniard has been linked with La Liga champions Barcelona, North London giants Arsenal, Valencia and Italian Serie A champions Juventus.
He’s said to be holding out for more than a one-year contract extension at Manchester United.
His compatriot Ander Herrera has been a key performer for Manchester United since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer became the Red Devils manager albeit on an interim basis but that has not stopped transfer rumours linking him with a return to Spanish La Liga club Athletic Bilbao.
The 29-year-old signed a five-year contract to become a Manchester United player in 2014 having joined the club from Athletic Bilbao.
Like Mata, his contract expires at the end of the season.
For Ashley Young, recent reports claim that he turned down a two-year free transfer move to Italian side Inter Milan in favour of staying at Old Trafford beyond his current deal which expires in five months’ time.
