English Premier League outfit Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has come in defense of former Napoli star Jorginho and he feels it is wrong to criticize the player’s performance in the team.
This is coming after criticisms from fans and pundits that Jorginho is one of the reasons why the West London side have continued to struggle in recent time because of his poor performance.
In his defense, Maurizio Sarri said Jorginho only plays according to instruction and according to the movement if his teammates which he claims to be the best thing to do.
In his explanation, the Italian boss hailed Jorginho as a very good player who has been impressive in games. He added that the star midfielder needs movement when he is not with the ball from the other players, stressing that it is the reason why this is playing out.
However, there are no indications that Maurizio Sarri will step down the Italy international midfielder and will always make use of him each time he is available.
It would be recalled that there were uproars in the Blues team over the decision of the coach to move French powerhouse N’Golo Kante away from his natural defensive role to a more wide position just to create a space for Jorginho.
