North London giants Arsenal were interested in a move for Belgian international winger Yannick Ferreira-Carrasco during the January transfer window but the Gunners were unable to pull off a deal for him.

Arsenal manager Unai Emery wanted to boost his forward options with the loan signing of Carrasco.

Yannick Ferreira-Carrasco plays his club football for Chinese Super League club Dalian Yifang at the moment and the 25-year-old was keen to return to Europe having joined them from Spanish La Liga giants Atletico Madrid last year.

The former AS Monaco attacker wants to move back to Europe after becoming disillusioned with life in China.

Apart from Arsenal, Italian Serie A club Inter Milan were also mentioned as a possible loan transfer destination.

In the end, Carrasco stayed with his Chinese club at the end of the winter transfer window.

Addressing the reason why a move didn’t happen via the Daily Star, his agent Federico Pastorello revealed that loan fee was responsible and that Dalian Yifang have taken his client off the market meaning that he’s no longer available for a transfer.

He further revealed that there’s a possibility that a possible transfer could be back on when the summer’s transfer window comes around at the end of this season.
