Manchester United defender Antonio Valencia could have left the club before the winter transfer window ended on Thursday night.
According to the publication from popular English news outlet The Sun, the 93-cap Ecuadorian international player had offers from struggling Premier League sides like Newcastle United and Fulham towards the end of the January transfer window.
The Red Devils were open to the idea of letting him leave Old Trafford last month but the player elected to stay at the club until the end of his contract.
Antonio Valencia has less than six months left on his Manchester United contract and he’s expected to leave the club in the summer.
The club skipper started this season as the first choice right-back but the duo of Ashley Young and Diogo Dalot have moved ahead of him in the pecking order.
The 33-year-old has struggled for form and fitness this season.
The winger turned defender is the longest serving player at Manchester United having joined the club from Championship side Wigan Athletic in 2009.
He has featured just once for Manchester United since interim manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was appointed in December.
That appearance came against Newcastle United in the 2-0 away win over the Magpies.
