Premier League club Arsenal have it all to do in their quest to sign Belgian international star Yannick-Ferreira Carrasco before the winter transfer window closes on Thursday.

Yannick Carrasco plays his club football for Chinese Super League side Dalian Yifang at the moment having moved to China from Spanish La Liga giants Atletico Madrid last year.

Arsenal have held talks with both the player’s representatives and his club with the Gunners exploring a possible loan move for Carrasco.

Dalian Yifang wants a £35m transfer fee for Carrasco who’s keen to return back to Europe after just one year though they are open to a loan deal with an option to sign the 25-year-old permanently.

The AC Milan threat to the Gunners’ bid to sign Yannick-Ferreira Carrasco was revealed by the Daily Mirror.

The Italians want to rush through a move for Carrasco before the end of the current transfer window.

It remains to be seen whether the Gunners can fend off the challenge of AC Milan in their quest to secure the transfer of the Belgian.

Carrasco could be the direct replacement for the injured Danny Welbeck who will spend the remainder of the season on the sidelines after injuring his ankle two months ago.
