Arsenal midfielder Emile Smith-Rowe is closing in on a short-term loan move to the German Bundesliga.

The 18-year-old will join German Bundesliga club RB Leipzig on loan for the rest of the season as confirmed by popular English media outlet Daily Mirror.

The young England player will get more playing time with RB Leipzig in comparison to what he was given at Arsenal.

The loan fee involved is said to be around £1m plus further add-ons based on his appearances for the Europa League campaigners.

Emile Smith-Rowe came into the Arsenal first team picture after a very good preseason at the start of this campaign.

He has scored three goals in all competitions for the Gunners this season and his progress was curtailed by a recent injury sustained towards the end of last year.

Smith-Rowe is the latest English prospect to leave England for Germany.

English youngsters like Jadon Sancho and Reiss Nelson have been in sensational form for their respective German top flight sides.

Jadon Sancho has scored seven goals and also provided nine assists for Borussia Dortmund in their run to the top of the Bundesliga table this season.

On his part, Reiss Nelson has been in good form since he joined TSG Hoffenheim on a season-long loan deal from Arsenal last summer.
