Italian Serie A outfit Lazio have been in the pursuit of English Premier League outfit Chelsea left full-back Davide Zappacosta and it was expected that a deal is finalized in this January winter transfer window.

The latest report claims that the Serie A outfit will be backing out of their pursuit for the star player which means a deal for Davide Zappacosta is not expected to happen in this winter window.

Davide Zappacosta had wished to part ways with the West London side over his lack of playing time under manager Maurizio Sarri as he has gone down the pecking order.

However, a dream move to Lazio has been called off because the Serie A outfit have got financial burden and may not be able to shoulder that of Davide Zappacosta.

It is revealed that the Serie A outfit had already held talks with the player and his representatives but could not reach an agreement over the demands of the player.

Meanwhile, Davide Zappacosta could head to other destination as he has been told by the Italian manager that he s ready to leave the club and not part of his future plans.

Davide Zappacosta is expected to cost about £15.5 million should any club be interested in his signature.
