North London giants Arsenal have been dealt a huge transfer blow following the news that the much anticipated Gunners move for Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez is off.
This is according to the publication from Spanish media portal Mundo Deportivo which claimed that Arsenal director Raul Sanllehi has the chief culprit behind the failed transfer for Denis Suarez.
It was revealed that the Denis Suarez won’t join the Gunners in this winter transfer window and that Barcelona are pointing accusing fingers at the aforementioned Sanllehi.
Raul Sanllehi was the former director of football at Spanish La Liga giants Barcelona before he teamed up with the Gunners at the start of last year.
Bad relations between Raul Sanllehi and Barcelona has affected the Denis Suarez transfer.
The Spaniard was looking forward to reuniting with Arsenal manager Unai Emery at the North London club having worked with him during the 2014/15 season.
Denis Suarez played under the guidance of his compatriot in the colours of Spanish La Liga club Sevilla during that season.
The 25-year-old has already told senior Barcelona officials that he won’t leave the club for any other team except Arsenal but it looks like he won’t be granted his wish to work under Unai Emery again.
