Arsenal legend Charlie Nicholas has berated the Gunners defence following the disappointing FA Cup exit at the hands of rivals Manchester United on Friday night.

Charlie Nicholas is adamant that the Arsenal defence is not good enough.

The former Arsenal striker further called on club manager Unai Emery to sell the current crop of defenders.

The Arsenal defence was in shambles against Manchester United and Unai Emery needs to overhaul that aspect of the team according to ex-Scotland national team star Charlie Nicholas.

The 57-year-old footballer turned pundit talked about Arsenal and the ineffective defence while he was on popular English news channel Sky Sports.

With the help of the defence, the Gunners were well beaten by Manchester United as interim manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made it eight wins on the trot since he took charge of the team last month.

Manchester United won 3-1 in the fourth round clash in the FA Cup to advance to the next round of the competition.

Alexis Sanchez scored the opening goal on his return to Arsenal before Romelu Lukaku teed up Jesse Lingard for a second strike just after providing the assist for the aforementioned Chilean.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang pulled one back before the end of the first half before substitute Anthony Martial confirmed the result with eight minutes left.
