Manchester United and fierce rivals Liverpool are eyeing a move for young Birmingham City striker Romello Mitchell according to reports coming out of the British media.

The Daily Mirror revealed that both Liverpool and Manchester United are keen to sign the English youngster who has been in sensational form for the Birmingham City u-16 team this season.

Manchester United will have to fend off the Reds’ interest in their quest to sign the Birmingham City attacker.

Scouts from both clubs (Manchester United and Liverpool) were joined by the representatives of the other teams as Romello Mitchell impressed again during a game with Sheffield Wednesday on Wednesday.

He was on target for the Birmingham City u-16s but ended up on the losing sides as they were beaten 2-1 by Sheffield Wednesday.

It’s not the first time that the 16-year-old has been linked with a move away from the club.

Birmingham City could still get a top-six place in the English Championship at the end of the season thus leading them to the playoffs for the Premier League and the young English striker could still play a part in that.

Birmingham City topscorer Che Adams has scored 14 goals this season and he has been attracting Premier League interest.

Romello Mitchell could replace him (Che Adams) in the Birmingham City team.
