Arsenal have suffered a major transfer blow after Italian Serie A giants Inter Milan rejected their loan bid for winger Ivan Perisic.

This is according to respected Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.

According to him, Arsenal offered a £5m loan fee for Ivan Perisic from now till the end of the season with an option to buy for €40m in the summer.

Di Marzio revealed that the offer was rejected by the Nerazzurri.

Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic is eager to leave the club in this winter transfer window having not enjoyed the best of seasons for the Italians.

He has scored just three goals for Inter Milan in this campaign.

His Inter Milan form is a far cry from his impressive outing for the Croatian national team at the 2018 FIFA World Cup tournament in Russia.

Ivan Perisic was one of the standout performers for the Croatian team that reached the final of the above mentioned tournament in surprising fashion before they were beaten 4-2 by fellow Europeans France.

Ivan Perisic would be a welcomed addition to an Arsenal squad depleted with the injury to forward Danny Welbeck.

The ex-Manchester United star won’t play again this season after suffering a serious ankle injury in November.
