Liverpool star Sadio Mane is one of those that were rewarded with a new and improved contract at Anfield in recent time.

The Senegal international has revealed that he was pestered by his Reds teammates to do so in November last year.

Before putting pen to paper, Sadio Mane was already speculated to be seeking a move away from the club with top European sides including Spanish La Liga outfit Real Madrid making efforts to snap him up.

However, Sadio Mane eventually did the wish of his colleagues by signing a deal with the Merseyside club until 2023.

He stated that the speculations linking him away from the Anfield is part of football which did not bother him in any way.

Sadio Mane made it clear that he never had the intention of leaving Liverpool but he was still kept under pressure by Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah to sign the contract before he did.

However, Sadio Mane expressed delight in being a part of the Liverpool family as he hopes that they can finally rejoice with a trophy at the end of this current campaign.

Sadio Mane became a Reds in the 2016 summer from Southampton and has since impressed to become one of the best in the league
