Arsenal manager Unai Emery has narrated how he came close to signing Manchester United forward Alexis Sanchez while he was with the Gunners.
The Spanish tactician talked about Alexis Sanchez during his pre-match press conference ahead of the Gunners’ mammoth FA Cup clash at home to Manchester United.

Unai Emery said that he tried to sign the Chilean international during last January’s transfer window.
He said that the former Arsenal star was one of the players that they looked at while he was at PSG before adding that signing him was not possible.
The Arsenal manager was responding to questions from reporters about Alexis Sanchez.
Manchester United star Alexis Sanchez joined the Red Devils at the start of last year from Arsenal in a swap deal which saw Armenian player Henrikh Mkhitaryan move to the Emirates Stadium.
Several clubs like Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint Germain (PSG) were interested in signing the Chilean forward before his move to Manchester United.
Alexis Sanchez has not been able to replicate his Arsenal form in the colors of Manchester United.
He has scored just four goals since signing for Manchester United in January 2018.
