Premier League giants Arsenal are in talks to sign Paris Saint Germain (PSG) midfielder Christopher Nkunku according to media reports in the United Kingdom.
According to the Daily Mail, the Gunners want to boost their squad with the acquisition of the young French midfielder.
Arsenal are pushing for a loan deal with an option to buy the player at the end of the season.
Christopher Nkunku could reunite with Arsenal manager Unai Emery who worked with him while the Spaniard was the PSG manager.
The French junior international scored seven goals in the 43 games that he played under the guidance of Unai Emery at PSG.
His versatility has endeared him to the hearts of Arsenal officials who are increasingly confident that the player will join the Gunners before the end of this January transfer window.
Nkunku came through the PSG ranks before making his debut for the French capital club in 2015.
The 21-year-old has scored two goals in addition to one assist in 16 games for PSG this season.
He could be the alternative to Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez in the event that the Spanish international player does not get his wish of an Arsenal move.
Barcelona are reluctant to sanction a loan transfer for the aforementioned Suarez as they are holding out for a permanent move for the 25-year-old.
