Sporting Lisbon are reportedly on the verge of snapping up Liverpool youngster Rafa Camacho in this January winter transfer window.

The Reds have made it clear that the star player will not be leaving the club on a loan deal any more as they hope to keep him as an option so as to be able to keep the fight going through the second half of the season.

Liverpool are four points clear and are desperate to maintain the lead so as to clinch the Premier League title at the end of the season which is the reason why they seek the presence of the star defender so as to strengthen and have more options.

It is no longer news that the Reds are facing some injury crisis in their defence line up with Trent Alexander-Arnold ruled out while Nathaniel Clyne is no longer at the club as he has moved to Bournemouth on loan.

However, reports claim that Rafa Camacho is already aware of the interest from the Portuguese topflight and is willing to move that direction on a loan deal until the end of the season.

Meanwhile, Liverpool will do all it takes to convince him into staying at the club and not move on loan for now.
