The football world was thrown into a state of mourning on Monday after the plane carrying new Cardiff City signing Emiliano Sala disappeared over the English channel.

The plane was carrying the Argentine player from Nantes to Cardiff where he was expected to resume training with his new teammates on Tuesday morning.

It has now been revealed that the plane, a piper PA-46 Malibu registered in the United States of America, tried to unsuccessful take off three to five times before finally doing so.

This was contained in the several messages that Sala sent Nantes teammate Nicolas Pallois who had left him at the airport according to Newspaper Quest France.

The search for the above mentioned plane has extended to the second day with the people onboard still missing.

It was revealed on Tuesday that two people namely Argentine strike Emiliano Sala and the pilot were onboard the missing aircraft.

Emiliano Sala completed his reported club-record transfer to Welsh club Cardiff City from French Ligue 1 side Nantes at the weekend.

The 28-year-old had said his goodbyes to his Nantes teammates and was expected in Cardiff on Monday ahead of his first officially scheduled training with his new teammates on Tuesday.

Cardiff City had to call of the scheduled training on Tuesday following his disappearance via the missing plane.
