North London club Arsenal have been dealt a big blow in their pursuit of Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez after talks between the Gunners and the Spanish giants broke down.

According to the report from the Daily Mail, Arsenal and Barcelona were unable to reach an agreement for the player.

A loan transfer was agreed but the Gunners were not willing to commit to a permanent transfer at the end of the short-term loan.

Arsenal proposed a loan deal with the option to buy but the Spanish La Liga champions wanted an obligation to sign him at the end of his loan spell this summer.

Denis Suarez has not been able to nail down a spot in the Barcelona first team and he’s keen to leave the club in search of more playing opportunities.

The Spaniard has set his sights on a move to North London where he will reunite with Arsenal manager Unai Emery but his hopes might be dashed with the latest development.

Unai Emery and Denis Suarez worked together at Spanish La Liga club Sevilla in 2015.

Arsenal have no money to spend on players especially permanent signings in the current transfer window as confirmed by the aforementioned Unai Emery.
