Arsenal are reportedly eyeing a transfer for young Italian shot stopper Emil Audero as a potential replacement for veteran goalkeeper Petr Cech.

Retired Czech Republic international goalkeeper Cech will leave Arsenal at the end of the season having announced his retirement from football last week.

The 36-year-old is undoubtedly one of the best goalkeepers of his generation.

Petr Cech became a Chelsea legend after playing a major role in several titles won at Stamford Bridge over the last two decades.

He joined Arsenal in 2015 in a reported £10m deal from rivals Chelsea after losing his place to Thibaut Courtois.

Cech started this season as the number one goalkeeper in the Arsenal team before an injury paved the way for summer signing Bernd Leno to displace him.

According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio via Caughtoffside, Arsenal are plotting a transfer for Emil Audero who’s currently on loan at Italian Serie A club Sampdoria from Juventus.

The 22-year-old came through the ranks at Juventus before breaking into the first team in 2016.

Audero has been a key member of the Sampdoria team since he joined the club on loan at the start of the season.

He has made 20 appearances for Sampdoria who are in the top half of the Italian Serie A table at the moment.
