Former Arsenal right-back Lee Dixon has berated the hierarchy at the club following the admission that the Gunners won’t be able to make permanent signings in the current January transfer window.
The Arsenal legend spoke about the North London club and transfers on BBC Radio 5 Live as monitored by the Daily Express.
The footballer turned pundit said that the Gunners’ stance on permanent signings is a disastrous statement to make to the Arsenal fans.
Gunners boss Unai Emery admitted earlier this month that the club won’t be able to sign players permanently this month.
The Spaniard said that Arsenal can only sign players on loan in the current January transfer window and that there are no funds to secure the permanent transfer of players.
Without any signings, Unai Emery and his players were able to claw their way back into the race for the top four on the Premier League table with a big win over London rivals Chelsea.
Arsenal defeated the Blues 2-0 courtesy two first half goals from Alexander Lacazette and team captain Laurent Koscielny.
It was the 10th goal scored by French international striker Lacazette in all competitions this term.
On Koscielny’s part, it was his first goal since his return from a long-term injury problem.
