Napoli boss Carlo Ancelotti has confessed that he made attempts to snap up Naby Keita while he was German Bundesliga outfit Bayern Munich coach but the deal failed to work through.
Eventually, Naby Keita joined Liverpool from another German Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig for a whopping sum of £54 million in the last summer window.
Napoli were first encouraged to move in for Naby Keita after seeing several bids from the English Premier League side rejected by the German side.
Napoli were also not alone in the clubs that attempted to seal the player from Liverpool’s sight as Spanish La Liga outfit Barcelona were also understood to be interested in the star player.
IT was a difficult season for Naby Keita in his debut season as he was injured and saw just 8 games which was a big blow but that has since changed as he has become a member of the team as well as making big impact with his presence.
Carlo Ancelotti admitted that Naby Keita has transformed to become a different and better player from what he used to be when plying his trade in Germany stressing that missing out on the player is a big regret for him and his former side.
