Should English Premier League outfit Chelsea fail in their bid to secure other striker targets, they are willing to consider former league champions Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy so as to have new additions before the winter transfer window comes to an end.
The West London side are keen to land an attacker this winter window as manager Maurizio Sarri has lost faith in Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud because of the lack of cutting edge in the team.
Several strikers have been linked with the club with Argentina international and Italian Serie A outfit AC Milan striker Gonzalo Higuain reported to be favourite to join the club as manager Maurizio Sarri remains his biggest fan.
However, with the reluctance of the Italian Serie A side to have Higuain released, the West London side could be forced to look other direction and have identified the former Premier League champion as a big alternative.
Jamie Vardy has been an unchanged figure since his resurgence that helped the Leicester city side win the Champions League in 2016 as he has continued to deliver goals for the Foxes.
So far this season, the England international has scored seven goals for his side and is expected to be secured with a cheap fee.
