Experienced journalist Gabriele Marcotti believes that Arsenal are able to sign Brazilian star Neymar.
Former Santos forward Neymar became the most expensive player in the history of world football at the start of law season when French Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint Germain (PSG) activated the £200m (€222m) release clause in his then Barcelona contract to secure his signing.
The Italian was speaking while he was on the Guillem Balague Transfer Show as he revealed that Arsenal will make money available for a permanent transfer if the aforementioned Neymar is available for £50m.
Gabriele Marcotti was reacting to the news that Arsenal have no money to spend in this January transfer window.
Earlier this month, Arsenal manager Unai Emery confirmed that there was no money available to expand on permanent signings and that the Gunners can only sign players on loan.
The North Londoners are in danger of letting their season slip away and fans were expecting significant additions in the transfer window to boost the squad.
Arsenal have fallen six points behind fourth-placed Chelsea in the race to qualify for next season’s Champions League and their fifth position is currently under threat from Manchester United who have the same number of points as the Gunners (41 points)
