Former Premier League (PL) player Danny Murphy has warned Arsenal not to sign any player in the current January transfer window.
The ex-Liverpool and Fulham midfielder talked about January transfers in his column in the Mail on Sunday as he advised Arsenal and top four rivals Manchester United and Chelsea against making signings in this transfer window.
According to him, it’s always difficult for signings to integrate themselves into the team in the middle of the season.
Arsenal fans have called on manager Unai Emery to strengthen the squad as they try to secure a top four spot in the Premier League at the end of this season.
The Gunners are currently six points off London rivals Chelsea who occupy the last spot in the Champions League places ahead of their meeting at the Emirates Stadium next week.
Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez has emerged as the top target for the Gunners in the transfer window though a move is far off at the moment.
The Catalans want a permanent transfer for the Spanish player with a fee of around €20m (£18m) enough for them to sanction a move but Arsenal want a loan deal with the option to make the temporary deal permanent in the summer.
