Arsenal have reportedly told Rennes forward Ismaila Sarr about a possible summer swoop for him.
According to French publication Le10 Sport via popular English news outlet Metro, the Gunners have informed the player that they want to sign him and that any possible transfer will have to wait till the summer.
Arsenal manager Unai Emery has already confirmed that there won’t be any permanent transfer to the club this month.
The Gunners can only sign players on loan meaning that Ismaila Sarr will have to wait till the end of the season
Arsenal have been previously linked with a move for the young attacker.
He has been in sensational form for French Ligue 1 side Rennes in the new league campaign.
Sarr has scored five goals and provided five assists for Rennes in the French top flight this term.
The 20-year-old has played on both the left and right wings for Rennes this season and has also led the line in attack on numerous occasions.
Ismaila Sarr could be the direct replacement for Danny Welbeck in the Arsenal squad.
Welbeck is currently out injured following the serious ankle injury that he suffered in November and his contract runs out in the summer.
