Italian Serie A outfit AC Milan manager Gennaro Gattuso seem to have conceded defeat to keeping Argentina international Gonzalo Higuain in this winter transfer window.

The Argentina international has been linked away from the San Siro in a couple of weeks with Chelsea keen to land him but it has been a firm stand from the Italian manager that the player is unavailable.

Despite the report that a deal has been agreed and Gonzalo Higuain was due to pen his signature with the West London outfit, there is yet to be any headway with the Serie A side bent on keeping him.

But that might not be anymore with Gattuso stating that he now has no power over the future of the Argentina international, stressing that it is what the player wants that would happen.

According to the AC Milan boss, it is difficult to convince a player when he has already made a decision, noting that the club has done their best to insist in keeping him but what happens in coming days is yet unknown.

However, Chelsea were willing to involve under firing striker Alvaro Morata in the deal as they offered him in what looks like a swap deal to AC Milan.
