It has been hinted that English Premier League side Fulham are still hopeful of landing West London outfit Chelsea central defender Gary Cahill before the end of this winter transfer window.

According to the report, Fulham are not ready to give up on the signature of the star player as they are keen to land an experienced central defender that will keep them through to the end of the second half of the season.

Fulham have struggled this season as a result of their lack of quality defending and the club are bent to having a solution in this winter window with the England international.

However, Cahill is keen to leave the West London side as a result of the lack of playing time which could cast spell to his career knowing that he is at his peak and would soon begin to depreciate.

The 33-year-old is already aware of the interest from the Whiles and is reported to be seeking a three-year deal before he can put pen to paper at Craven Cottage.

While Fulham are only ready to hand him a two-year deal but they are hopeful that they can convince the former Bolton central defender before the winter transfer window elapses.
