Former Premier League striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink is certain that Manchester United need a new midfielder to boost the output of star player Paul Pogba.
2018 World Cup winner Paul Pogba was reduced to a peripheral figure in the final months of the managerial reign of the recently sacked Jose Mourinho but that has changed under interim Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Paul Pogba has scored four goals and provided three assists in just four games under the watchful eyes of former Manchester United striker Solskjaer and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink believes that the Frenchman can even get better.
While speaking on Sky Sports as monitored by the Daily Express, former Chelsea striker Hasselbaink disclosed that a new midfielder will free up Pogba to do damage to the opposition in the attacking third.
The Blues legend went on to say that a new midfielder will play alongside Nemanja Matic and together with the Serbian, they can provide a protective shield for the Red Devils back four.
Manchester United recently signed a central midfielder with the acquisition of Brazilian star Fred in a multi-million pounds deal from Ukrainian champions Shakhtar Donetsk.
Since his transfer, Fred has failed to live up to the huge expectations from the Red Devils fans.
