Player Mourinho Wanted To Sign Before Man United Exit Revealed
Former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho made West Ham United forward Marko Arnautovic one of his top transfer targets before he was sacked from his post at Old Trafford.
The Daily Telegraph via the Daily Express revealed that the Portuguese tactician wanted to sign Austrian international star Arnautovic before his Manchester United career ended abruptly last month.
Jose Mourinho was dismissed as the Manchester United manager in December and was subsequently replaced by ex-Red Devils striker Ole Gunnar Solskjaer who has brought stability back to the football club.
Solskjaer will be the Manchester United manager on an interim basis until the end of this season.
Former Real Madrid and FC Porto tactician Mourinho lost his job after an underwhelming start to the season.
He had earlier fallen out with the Manchester United board especially chief executive Ed Woodward following a lack of transfers.
Jose Mourinho wanted a new centre back and a winger before he walked out of the Old Trafford door.
This development about Marko Arnautovic is coming after an unnamed Chinese club made a £35m bid for him.
The transfer bid was immediately turned down by the Hammers who were very clear in stating that one of their most prized asset is not for sale.
