Italian Serie A giants Napoli are ahead of both Arsenal and Chelsea in the race to sign Italian midfielder Nicolo Barella in the current January transfer window.
This is according to Sky Sports Italia journalist Gheida Pensante who revealed that Napoli are the front-runners for the young midfielder.
Nicolo Barella plays his club football for Italian Serie A side Cagliari Calcio at the moment.
Gheida Pensante further claimed that Barella is almost likely to stay at Cagliari until the end of the season before adding that he will only join Napoli if Brazilian midfielder Allan leaves the club.
The Sky Sports Italia journalist also stated that North London giants Arsenal have shown more interest in Nicolo Barella that their top four rivals Chelsea.
Recent reports claimed that the Blues have made a bid for him as he’s their top target in the quest to replace Cesc Fabregas who’s Monaco-bound.
Premier League giants Manchester United have also been linked with a move for Barella with reports claiming that the Red Devils have made a non-negotiable offer for him.
Nicolo Barella has been one of the best midfielders in the Italian top flight for the better part of the last year.
He made his Italian national team debut in October 2018.
