Why I snubbed Chelsea’s advances, Alisson Becker

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker has made it clear that he snubbed the advances from English Premier League side Chelsea before giving his nod to the Reds in the last summer transfer window.

The Brazilian international joined the Merseyside club for a record fee of about £67 million from Italian Serie A outfit AS Roma and he has since become a major force in the Reds team.

Liverpool’s success so far this season can be traced to be an awesome performance of the former AS Roma stopper having made enough saves to have stopped Liverpool from conceding.

Alisson Becker made it clear that he believed Liverpool would be a better move for him which was the reason why he snubbed Chelsea.

He added that he had always admired Liverpool and dreamt of playing at the club even before he left Brazil to AS Roma because the club has got a big history of five European Cups.

Alisson Becker made it clear that his intention is also to be part of the history by ensuring that in his time, the Reds are able to win one major trophy this season or in the future.

Meanwhile, Liverpool came close last season as they fell in the Champions League finals to Real Madrid.
