Arsenal have it all to do in their quest to sign Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez in this January transfer window following the news that London rivals West Ham United are trying to hijack the move for the La Liga player.
The Gunners are close to a deal for the Spanish international star if recent reports from the British media are anything to go by but that could come under serious threat from the Hammers.
Arsenal were willing to sign the former Manchester City Academy player on loan this month with the view to making the transfer permanent during this summer’s transfer window but Barcelona are adamant on the permanent sale option for the 25-year-old.
The Scottish Sun claim that West Ham United have made a £20m bid for Denis Suarez which more than meets the asking price requested by Barcelona.
The player has, however, turned down a transfer to the London Stadium with his mind fixed on a move to Arsenal where he will reunite with Gunners boss Unai Emery.
Denis Suarez played for Unai Emery when he was the Sevilla manager.
He has scored eight goals and provided 10 assists for Barcelona in 69 appearances in all competitions in addition to the fact that he has 110 La Liga outings under his belt.
