Chelsea legend Frank Lampard met big disappointment from his former side over in the pursuit of youngster Ethan Ampadu.
The Derby County boss is keen to strengthen his squad and identified Ethan Ampadu as a good fit to the club with the hope that he could be favoured because of his past relationship with the club but that did not work out for him.
The Wales international has yet to break into the first team and will no doubt need a loan move away to be able to secure regular playing time so as to further progress and enhance his development as a player but that is yet to happen.
Lampard has therefore given up having stated that he has made an inquiry about the availability of Ethan Ampadu but the response was not positive for him which makes him think the player is not leaving the Stamford Bridge.
The Chelsea legend regrets the refusal of his former side as he laments that Ethan Ampadu has the ability to play a number of positions which would have been valuable to the club but that he cannot benefit.
Meanwhile, Lampard made it clear that he is trying to change a number of things in the team which requires personnel for execution.
