North London giants Arsenal have emerged as the front-runners for highly rated Belgian international attacker Yannick Ferreira-Carrasco.
Carrasco is on the payroll of Chinese Super League side Dalian Yifang at the moment.
The 25-year-old left European football last year after he completed his transfer to Chinese club Dalian Yifang from Spanish La Liga giants Atletico Madrid.
Sky Sports Italia claim that the Gunners are the favourites to rescue him from his football sojourn in China.
Yannick Ferreira-Carrasco is said to be fed up with life in the Chinese Super League and that he’s eager to return to Europe.
Italian Serie A giants AC Milan are also interested in the Belgian attacker but the seven-time European champions are unable to afford his wages thus making the Gunners overwhelming favourites to sign him.
Carrasco earns £170,000 on a weekly basis and the North Londoners are more than capable to meet his financial demands.
He could be the direct replacement for the stricken Danny Welbeck who has been ruled out for the rest of the season.
Arsenal boss Unai Emery has already spoken about the need to improve his injury-depleted squad with some new players though he was quick to point out that potential transfers are still far from being concluded.
