Experienced Italian journalist Ciro Venerato has confirmed that North London giants Tottenham Hotspur are readying a €40m bid for one of the defensive targets of Manchester United.
He made this known in a chat with Rai Sport via calciomercato.
According to him, Tottenham want to sign Andersen who plays for Italian Serie A side Sampdoria.
The Danish centre back has been previously linked with a move to Manchester United as well as to Spurs’ North London rivals Arsenal.
Joachim Andersen has been a key performer for Sampdoria in the Italian Serie A this season and he could be a fantastic addition to the Red Devils squad.
He would certainly boost the Manchester United team on the defensive front.
The Premier League giants are said to be on the lookout for defensive reinforcements in the current transfer window.
Manchester United have been very poor defensively this season although the dismissal of Jose Mourinho and the interim appointment of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as the Red Devils manager has coincided with an improvement in defence.
Manchester United conceded 29 goals in 17 Premier League games under Jose Mourinho before he was sacked last month in comparison to three goals conceded in only four league games under Solskjaer.
