It has been revealed that the potential sale of unsettled Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil is being delayed by just one reason.

Recently retired German international Ozil has been attracting interests from far and near after failing to adapt to the methods of new Arsenal manager Unai Emery.

Daily Express claim that the former Real Madrid playmaker would have been sold by now but interested clubs are staying away from the player because of his huge salary at Arsenal.

Mesut Ozil committed his long-term future to Arsenal last February when he signed a three-year deal worth £350,000 on a weekly basis.

The 30-year-old still has two-and-a-year left on that contract.

He has been attracting interests from Italy, China and Turkey.

Clubs like Inter Milan, Fenerbahce, Besiktas, Istanbul Baskasehir and Manchester United have all been linked with him.

Mesut Ozil has been dropped or substituted by Arsenal manager Unai Emery on several occasions after failing to adapt to his tactics.

He has also missed several games with injuries this term, especially back spasm.

Ozil is presently injured and has missed the last two games with a knee injury.

In total, the German has scored three goals and provided solitary assists in just 13 Premier League games this season.
