Italian Serie A champions Juventus have reportedly turned down a swap deal proposition involving wantaway Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey.
According to the publication from Italian media portal TuttoMercatoWeb via the Daily Star, Arsenal proposed a swap deal that will see Moroccan international centre-back Mehdi Benatia join the Gunners in exchange for Aaron Ramsey.
It was revealed that the proposition was swiftly rejected by the Old Lady and that the Italians don’t want to sign Aaron Ramsey in this January transfer window.
Welsh international player Ramsey has been the subject of intense transfer rumours following his contract standoff with Arsenal.
The 28-year-old has less than six months remaining on his Gunners contract and senior club officials have decided not to offer him a contract extension.
Arsenal initially offered the former Cardiff City playmaker a new contract before it was withdrawn last year.
Recent reports claim that Italian giants Juventus have agreed a free transfer move for the player and that Aaron Ramsey will join the Old Lady at the end of his Arsenal contract this summer.
Several European clubs were also keen on a move for the Welshman.
Bavarian giants Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea and Inter Milan are some of the clubs interested in Ramsey.
