Fulham are reported to have taken a drastic decision in order to seal a deal for experienced Chelsea defender Gary Cahill in this winter transfer window.

The English Premier League side have longed been linked with the player with reports that a bid could be submitted to have him switch away from the West London club.

Gary Cahill is believed to be unhappy at the Stamford Bridge as a result of the lack of playing time which is the reason why he wants to quit the club.

He has been linked with a number of clubs including North London side Arsenal with a bid to have him join the Emirates Stadium to solve the defensive crisis with the Unai Emery side.

However, Fulham look more serious in the pursuit of the experienced defender and they have taken a drastic step by sending Timothy Fosu-Mensah away from the club to make room for Gary Cahill.

This means that Timothy Fosu-Mensah will return to English Premier League side Manchester United after having an unsuccessful loan spell in West London.

The reason for Fulham’s decision is to be able to have more cash so as to accommodate Gary Cahill at the club without any financial itch.
