North London giants Arsenal have joined the race to sign in-form RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner according to the report coming out of the British media.
The Gunners are the third team to show an interest in the German international attacker after five-time European champions Bayern Munich and Premier League table toppers Liverpool.
The Daily Mirror revealed that Arsenal want to add Timo Werner to their squad despite having the lethal duo of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette in their ranks.
Germany striker Timo Werner has built a reputation as one of the most feared attackers in the German Bundesliga since the start of last season.
He has scored 24 goals for RB Leipzig in the last 18 months including 11 Bundesliga goals this season.
His impressive form for RB Leipzig has propelled the team to the top four (Champions League places) on the German Bundesliga table.
Liverpool and Bayern Munich have also been mentioned as possible transfer destinations for the 22-year-old who’s in the middle of a contract standoff with RB Leipzig.
Timo Werner has just 18 months remaining on his current deal with RB Leipzig and the petite player has been warned by club officials that he risked being sold in the summer if he fails to sign a new contract.
