Liverpool saw their first Premier League defeat on Thursday in their Premier League clash against defending champions Manchester City which means a close in the gap on top of the log.
The highly anticipated game ended with the Reds losing 2-1, no thanks to Sergio Aguero and Leroy Sane who ensured all three points for the league title contenders.
That might not be enough as the Reds could see their player punished by the English FA for using a V-sign after his goal against Manchester City.
Brazilian attacker Roberto Firmino used a V-sign which is known to be an abusive sign and that could not be acceptable should the FA succeed in the establishing some facts.
This is because it was clear he had done the gesture but no one as at press time is able to tell who he was directing it to as that will be the basis for his punishment.
However, Man City boss was also involved in a rant against the fourth official which he could be punished for in coming days.
The gap between the Reds and the Citizens have now been leveled down to four points which makes the intensity of the league higher as Liverpool will have to do more to avoid further defeats.
