Arsenal manager Unai Emery has debunked transfer rumours which claimed that the Gunners have made a £14m bid to sign Keylor Navas from European champions Real Madrid.
The Spanish tactician denied the Gunners’ interest in the Costa Rican International shot stopper during his pre-match press conference ahead of the FA Cup clash at English League One side Blackpool.
Unai Emery went on to say that he’s happy with the three first choice goalkeepers in his team and that he does not know about any interest in Keylor Navas.
Summer signing Bernd Leno is the undisputed number one goalkeeper at Arsenal having joined the club from German Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen at the start of the season.
Experienced shot stopper Petr Cech and Argentine star Emiliano Martinez are the second and third goalkeepers at the Emirates Stadium respectively.
Spanish media outlet Sport had earlier revealed that the North Londoners have made a £14m bid for Keylor Navas and that he’s close to joining Arsenal in this January transfer window.
Keylor Navas appeared to fuel that report with a recent Instagram post conveying a farewell message to the Real Madrid fans for their support over the years.
The 32-year-old has dropped to the bench since the summer arrival of Thibaut Courtois from Premier League giants Chelsea.
